  1. Nice article. Two comments.
The Wardogs in the Rovers of the Barrens, any consideration to having them equipped with javelins? For an infantry force that may or may not operate away from the mounted elements it seems thematically appropriate.

The Second is about the 500 Heavy Cavalry Lancers in Blackmoor’s army. For a frigid country with few resources would a medium cavalry lancer be better given what terrain and weather they have to navigate?

Can’t wait for Greyhawk, Dyvers, etc. to round this out.

Of course, naval forces and demi-human forces separate from the human nations would be nice. Great job!

    1. The Wardogs are specifically said to run alongside the cavalry and take out enemies by hamstringing their horses, so I felt hand weapons was the right choice.

For Blackmoor, I recall seeing something in one of Dave Arneson’s stuff long ago about the Baron having heavy cavalry. I know it’s not technically the same Blackmoor, but it did feel right to keep it in there.

The naval forces will happen when I figure out a low-fantasy naval wargame. One thing at a time! 🙂

  2. Forgot to mention that Dragon Magazine had 900 Centaurs in the Rovers of the Barrens as allied forces.

    1. Yes, I already have a “Battle of Fellreev Forest” planned that will have the centaurs and Rovers vs. the Horned Society. I even bought the centaur figures already. 🙂

    2. I am living these army articles – especially the miniature recommendations!

My only question so far is why you included Verbobonc in with Furyondy, has she not always been a vassal of Veluna?

I’m not up on the later Greyhawk Wars materials, but my 1st, 2nd and 3rd edition books all point-to-point her being a semi autonomous vassal state of Veluna.
      ?? Did I miss something?
