Today we have Rags to Riches: The Heart of Vecna, by a familiar author, Christopher Hamwell. This is a 278 page pdf with AI art and maps by Dyson Logos, but no bookmarks (boo!). It says it’s compatible with 5E, both the 2014 and 2024 rules.
It’s a big, sprawling adventure that crosses between Forgotten Realms and Greyhawk, and is intended to be a prelude to Vecna: Eve of Ruin. It uses the Hand and Eye of Vecna from the 2E era, where they are actually creatures that look like a giant hand and a giant eye, which I thought was a great call-back to Vecna Lives! It hits some familiar places, like Neverwinter, Citadel Cavitius, and Tovag Baragu, as well as the author’s own Cursed Abbey of Boccob, in the ruins of Castle Greyhawk.
I’m honestly not the person to evaluate whether something is a worthy entry into the whole Vecna mega-plot that just never seems to end (I think Vecna is really over-used as a villain, but that’s a discussion for another time), but if you’re into that, this certainly seems on the surface like it would be a good adventure to have.
It costs $19.95 and you can buy the adventure here.
